Changan Automobile's annual sales grow YoY to over 2.68 million vehicles in 2024

On January 1, Chinese automaker Changan Automobile announced its 2024 sales results, which surpassed 2.68 million units for the entire year. This marks the automaker's fifth consecutive year of realizing year-on-year growth and its highest annual sales performance in the past seven years. 

NIO's 3,000th battery-swap station in China goes live

Chinese new energy vehicle maker NIO announced on January 3 that its 3,000th battery-swap station officially starts operation in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. NIO's users have so far compleyed over 61 million times of battery swap.

Yutong Bus sees 28.48% YoY increase in 2024 annual sales

Yutong Bus announced that it sold 8,615 vehicles in December 2024, representing a year-on-year surge of 82.95%. The company’s cumulative sales through the past year came in at 46,900 vehicles, jumping 28.48% from a year ago.

NEOLIX launches unmanned delivery vehicles in Chengdu, Sichuan

SAIC Motor recently announced its annual wholesale volume reached 4,013,023 vehicles in 2024, representing a year-on-year decrease of 20.07%. In the same period, the group's full-year vehicle deliveries amounted to around 4.639 million units.

China's vehicle inventory alert index in Dec. 2024 drops YoY, MoM

The China Automobile Dealers Association ("CADA") recently released the latest "China Automobile Dealers Inventory Alert Index" (VIA), showing that in December 2024, the VIA for Chinese automobile dealers reached 50.2%, representing a year-on-year decrease of 3.5 percentage points and a month-on-month decline of 1.6 percentage points.

Black Sesame Technologies, Alibaba Cloud deepen cooperation on development, promotion of intelligent automotive solutions

On January 2, automotive computing solution developer Black Sesame Technologies announced a deepened strategic partnership with Alibaba Cloud and Banma, an automotive tech firm under Alibaba Group. The collaboration aims to develop and promote integrated cabin-driving solutions for smarter and more efficient in-vehicle experiences. 

Huawei's Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance delivers 49,474 vehicles in Dec. 2024

Huawei's smart car alliance, Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), announced a record-breaking monthly delivery of 49,474 vehicles in December 2024. This milestone brings HIMA's total deliveries for the past year to 444,956 units.

On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
