[33 Companies Shortlisted for Saudi ESS Battery Project Prequalification, Including 9 Chinese Companies]
After review by the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC), a subsidiary of the Saudi Ministry of Energy, 33 local, regional, and international companies have been prequalified for Saudi Arabia's first Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project, or the G1BESS project, with a total storage capacity of 8 GWh. Among them, 9 Chinese companies were shortlisted. The seven companies shortlisted for both "management bid and technical bid" include: China Energy Engineering Group Overseas Investment Co., Ltd., China Power Engineering Consulting Group International Engineering Co., Ltd., China Southern Power Grid International (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., Envision Energy, Jinko Power (Hong Kong), a subsidiary of China Huaneng Group—Shanghua Investment Co., Ltd., and SPIC Huanghe Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. Additionally, two Chinese companies were shortlisted for the "management" bid: GCL Smart Energy (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. and PowerChina.
