SMM, January 2: On January 2, SMM A00 aluminum closed at 19,870 yuan/mt, up 100 yuan/mt, on par with the January contract, up 10 yuan/mt. The price spread between Henan and Shanghai was -100 yuan/mt, up 10 yuan/mt. SMM Central China closed at 19,770 yuan/mt, up 110 yuan/mt. On January 2, SMM A00 aluminum (Foshan) closed at 20,050 yuan/mt, up 80 yuan/mt, with a premium of 185 yuan/mt over the current month, narrowing by 5 yuan/mt. Aluminum billet spot market: Today, the overall domestic aluminum billet market saw weak transactions, with processing fees trending downward. By region, the South China market performed poorly, quoted at 330–380 yuan/mt, down 40 yuan/mt; the Wuxi market saw moderate transactions, quoted at 380–430 yuan/mt, down 20 yuan/mt; the Nanchang market also underperformed, quoted at 400–450 yuan/mt, basically flat.
