According to Webstock Inc., citing foreign media on December 30, Marimaca Copper announced on Monday the discovery of the northern extension of the Pampa Medina copper deposit, located approximately 26 kilometers from its Marimaca Oxide Deposit (MOD).
The company aims to advance the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) for its flagship project, the namesake Marimaca copper asset in the Antofagasta region of Chile.
Marimaca also reported the results of an initial reconnaissance drilling program at the Pias target, located within the broader Sierra de Medina block, northwest of Pampa Medina.
The company stated that drill hole SMR-01, located 400 meters north of the known northern extent of the Pampa Medina deposit, intersected significant oxide copper and chalcocite mineralization between 272-462 meters, transitioning to chalcopyrite-bornite-dominated mineralization between 462-650 meters.
The company noted that three additional drill holes at Pampa Medina remain incomplete, targeting extensions to the west and north, and added that it is currently considering expanding the discovery exploration program at Pampa Medina Norte in 2025.
