Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD Company Limited ("BYD") announced on Wednesday that its annual sales amounted to 4,272,145 vehicles in 2024, representing a 41.26% spike year-on-year and successfully achieving its annual target of 4 million units.

Of the vehicles BYD sold last year, 4,250,370 units were from the passenger vehicle arm, indicating a soar of 41.07% over a year earlier.

In addition, BYD reported a sales volume of 417,204 passenger vehicles for its overseas business in 2024, showing a 71.9% surge over the previous year.

Meanwhile, BYD reported sales of 514,809 new vehicles for the month of December 2024, marking a remarkable year-on-year surge of 50.95% and a month-on-month rise of 1.58%. Notably, the figure represents another record-breaking performance in BYD's monthly vehicle sales.

Of the new vehicles sold last month, passenger vehicle sales reached 509,440 units, a remarkable 49.76% hike compared to the same month last year and a slight month-on-month growth of 1.08%. Breaking down the sales by powertrain solutions, battery electric vehicle sales totaled 207,734 units, reflecting year-on-year and month-on-month increases of 8.9% and 4.88%, respectively. Meanwhile, plug-in hybrid electric vehicle sales soared to 301,706 units, showing a dramatic increase of 101.91% year-on-year, but posting a 1.38% month-on-month decline, contributing 59.22% to BYD's overall passenger car sales.

The company also sold 5,369 commercial vehicles last month, which skyrocketed 520.69% over a year earlier.
