Bidding Launched for Shenhua Baotou Coal-to-Olefin Upgrade Project with 17.15 Billion Yuan Investment

The bidding process for the Shenhua Baotou Coal-to-Olefin Upgrade Demonstration Project has been launched, with a total investment of 17.15 billion yuan. The project, located in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, will rely on existing facilities for renovation and expansion. It is expected to produce 2 million mt of methanol and 750,000 mt of polyolefin annually. The project is scheduled for completion in 2026, further promoting the deep integration of coal chemical and new energy development. In the future, related high-end chemical projects may see a total investment exceeding 40 billion yuan.
