Shanghai (Gasgoo)- As of December 24, 2024, Huawei has deployed over 500 own-brand supercharging stations, according to a post on the WeChat account of HIMA, Huawei's smart car alliance.
During December 16 to 22, the company newly deployed 34 supercharging stations spanning cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Xiamen, Qingdao, Chengdu, Wuhan, Changchun, Lanzhou, and Hohhot.
HIMA said these stations are equipped with Huawei's 600kW liquid-cooled supercharging terminals, delivering peak currents of up to 600A. This technology can achieve charging speeds equivalent to one kilometer per second.
Richard Yu, Huawei's Executive Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Intelligent Automotive Solution BU, previously revealed that Huawei aimed to deploy over 100,000 liquid-cooled ultra-fast chargers, 4,500 highway charging stations, and 700,000 public charging guns across 340 cities in China by the end of 2024. In addition, the company plans to establish at least 1,000 advanced technology-powered supercharging stations with around 7,000 supercharging piles by 2026.
Beyond its proprietary charging facilities, HIMA continues to strengthen partnerships with other automakers to increase the range of charging options. In April this year, Huawei announced the formation of a "supercharging alliance" with Chinese automakers such as BYD, GAC Group, FAW-Volkswagen, Chery, Li Auto, SERES, XPENG, ARCFOX, AVATR, JAC Group, Great Wall Motor, and NETA Auto joining it.
In July 2024, HIMA announced a collaboration with NIO Energy to enhance charging services. Under the collaboration, HIMA's users have been able to locate and utilize charging piles of NIO Power via the HIMA App, AITO App, and in-car systems for brands like AITO, LUXEED, and STELATO since July 17.
