Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 25, SinoHytec, a Chinese company engaging in R&D and industrialization of fuel cell engine systems, unveiled its latest-generation fuel cell engine, the M30+, according to a post on its WeChat account.

The company said this innovation expands the its fuel cell engine portfolio and broadens its application scope, further fulfilling the power requirements of heavy-duty trucks in long-haul, heavy-load, and trunk logistics scenarios.

The M30+ features a China-made fuel cell stack with independent intellectual property rights, achieving a 100% localization rate for its components. The engine boasts a maximum mass power density exceeding 900W/kg. With a rated power of 300kW, a peak power of 360kW, and an extreme power output of up to 380kW, it offers flexible and precise power delivery across a wide operating range, ensuring stable and robust performance for heavy-duty trucks, dump trucks, and heavy-duty tractors in demanding logistics scenarios.

In terms of efficiency, the M30+, with advanced fuel cell stack and system architecture, achieves a rated efficiency of 52% and a peak efficiency exceeding 50%.

Regarding environmental adaptability, the engine maintains exceptional performance under extreme climate, with a cold activation temperature of up to -40°C and a storage temperature range from -40°C to 85°C.

As for compatibility, the M30+ features a specialized single injector for fuel cells, supporting both high-pressure gaseous hydrogen and low-pressure liquid hydrogen supply modes. This design meets a minimum hydrogen supply pressure of 0.5MPa(g), accelerating the transition of liquid hydrogen-powered heavy trucks from laboratory to practical application.

To address cooling challenges for fuel cell heavy-duty trucks, the M30+ adopts a wide-temperature fuel cell stack developed by SinoHytec's partners. This technology raises the engine's maximum operating temperature to 95°C, with potential increases to 105°C based on client requirements.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
