On December 24, the Information Office of the Jining Municipal Government in Shandong Province held a press conference to introduce the progress of key industrial investment promotion in Jining.

From January to November, Jining, Shandong, launched 347 investment promotion projects, each with an investment of over 100 million yuan. The CATL (300750) new energy battery base project is progressing rapidly, and the annual 600,000 mt Lyocell fiber project has commenced construction.

Battery Network noted that in July 2022, CATL announced that with the rapid development of the domestic and international new energy industries, the market for power batteries and energy storage industries continues to grow. To further promote business development and meet market demand, CATL plans to invest in the construction of the Jining New Energy Battery Industrial Base Project in Jining, Shandong Province, with a total investment not exceeding 14 billion yuan. The company will establish a wholly-owned subsidiary in Jining, Shandong Province, as the project implementation entity, responsible for building production lines for power battery systems and energy storage systems. The project is expected to be completed within 24 months from the start of construction.
