Huadian Group has successfully connected the second phase of its Tengger solar project, adding to its 1 GW initiative in Inner Mongolia. This is a part of a vast 12.2 GW energy base comprising solar, wind, and solar thermal energy. The initial 1 GW was grid-connected in October 2024.
First Applied Material's Vietnamese subsidiary extended its project, shifting the completion of a major film encapsulation facility to December 2025. The delay focuses on enhancing factory designs and warehouse setups, with 55% of the budget already utilized by late 2024.
Separately, Shenergy awarded contracts for solar module procurement for its Xinjiang solar project to Trina Solar and GCL System Integration, totaling a combined capacity of 2 GW. Meanwhile, EliTe Solar commenced construction of a large-scale production plant in Egypt, aiming to boost presence in the MENA region.
