LG Energy Solution Signs 7.5 GWh US Energy Storage Deal with Excelsior Energy Capital

[7.5 GWh! LG Energy Solution Signs Another US Energy Storage Project] On December 21, the US subsidiary of South Korean energy storage company LG Energy Solution announced an agreement with US renewable energy investor Excelsior Energy Capital to provide 7.5 GWh of energy storage systems, along with integration and full life cycle services. The first batch will be delivered in April 2026, and all projects will comply with US domestic requirements. All projects will utilize LG Energy Solution's latest containerized energy storage solutions and LFP batteries, aiming to optimize energy efficiency and enhance safety. LG Energy Solution will provide all system integration services, the AEROS™ software control system, and related services to support the systems and operators throughout the entire project life cycle.

[SMM Analysis]This article is the first in the series, aiming to analyze the price impact of Chinese-produced energy storage cells exported directly, transshipped via Malaysia, and the hypothetical scenario of local production of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) energy storage cells in the US, from May 14 to August 13. Some of the data used are theoretical, which may make the results appear on the higher side. The author will explain the reasons for each data point in detail to allow readers to replace the relevant data and obtain more targeted conclusions. Follow-up articles (II) and (III) will analyze the price impact due to different tariffs at subsequent time points.
