[Tesla Energy Storage Factory Near Completion, Setting a New "Shanghai Speed" in Just Seven Months] Tesla's Shanghai Energy Storage Gigafactory is nearing completion and is expected to be finished by the end of this year, potentially surpassing the construction speed of its vehicle Gigafactory, achieving the entire process from groundbreaking to completion in just seven months. On May 23 this year, Tesla's Energy Storage Gigafactory broke ground in Lingang, Shanghai. Following the groundbreaking ceremony, Lingang Group and Tesla signed an agreement for China's first batch of ultra-large-scale commercial electrochemical energy storage systems, Megapack. It is reported that Tesla's Shanghai Energy Storage Gigafactory is expected to be put into operation in Q1 2025, with a planned annual production capacity of 10,000 commercial energy storage batteries, Megapack, and an energy storage scale of nearly 40 GWh, supplying products to the global market.
