Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 24, 2024, AVATR Technology and CATL signed a supplementary agreement to deepen their strategic partnership. Building on their existing collaboration in new energy vehicle (NEV) battery R&D, new material applications, and component development, the two companies will now cooperate further on priority application of new technologies, joint development of new projects, and co-branding initiatives.

Notably, CATL's Bedrock Chassis, the CIIC (CATL Integrated Intelligent Chassis)'s ultra-high safe flagship edition launched on the same day, will be first integrated into AVATR's vehicle models.

Mr. Chen Zhuo, President of AVATR Technology, emphasized the importance of shared strategic goals, highlighting broader cooperation across energy systems, platforms, and complete vehicle development. The companies aim to pioneer advancements in industry innovation and value creation under a new "N PLUS" business model. This partnership envisions scenario-driven, modular, and customizable approaches to accelerate product innovation and iteration. AVATR and CATL plan to decouple upper and lower vehicle bodies for open-box production methods, liberating design constraints, shortening vehicle development cycles, and enabling free combinations of energy management, intelligent technologies, driving dynamics, and space experiences. Users will also have the opportunity to actively participate in defining and customizing their vehicles.

In addition to strengthening its partnership with CATL, AVATR has made significant strides in sales, technology, and financing. The company recently signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with Huawei, expanding collaboration in product development, marketing, and ecosystem services. On the capital front, AVATR successfully completed a Series C financing round exceeding 11 billion yuan. Besides, AVATR's vehicle sales surpassed 10,000 units in both October and November 2024.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
