Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 23, the RADAR King Kong (named "Jin Gang" in Chinese pinyin), a new all-electric pickup model under Geely's high-end new energy outdoors lifestyle vehicle brand, RADAR, officially hit the market. The model is available in seven trim levels, with prices ranging from 99,800 yuan to 159,800 yuan.

Positioned as a commercial and passenger dual-use pure electric pickup truck, the RADAR King Kong is built on the M.A.P. Radar Hanhai platform.

Regarding design, the RADAR King Kong adopts the brand's signature style. Its front fascia features a closed grille, with a black, three-dimensional shape connecting to the sharp, darkened headlights on either side. The front bumper incorporates large air intakes, enhancing the vehicle's presence.

The side profile of the RADAR King Kong adopts a standard double-cab pickup design. Notably, the vehicle features a unibody construction, giving it a ground clearance more typical of SUVs. The model offers standard and long bed size schemes. The standard-bed variant has dimensions of 5,260/1,900/1,865mm (or 1,880mm), with a wheelbase of 3,120mm. The long-bed version measures 5,500/1,900/1,865mm (or 1,880mm), with a wheelbase of 3,310mm. The standard-bed variant offers cargo box dimensions of 1,525/1,450/540mm, while the long-bed version adds 240mm to the load depth to 1,765mm.

At the rear, the RADAR King Kong is equipped with a metal gate frame and four anchor hooks in the cargo bed, making it easy to secure loads. The vehicle is also coated with a durable and protective liner in the bed to enhance longevity. The rear taillights feature a smoked design, connecting with a black trim panel that spans the rear.

Inside, the RADAR King Kong adopts an all-black theme, reflecting its practical nature. The central console exhibits a symmetrical T-shape layout, featuring a combination of leather and soft-touch materials. Additionally, the vehicle comes with a digital instrument cluster and a large central touchscreen.

In terms of power performance, the RADAR King Kong is available in both single-motor rear-wheel drive (2WD) and dual-motor all-wheel drive (4WD) variants. The 2WD versions offer a maximum power output of 180kW and a peak torque of 309N·m. The 4WD versions deliver a combined maximum power of 280kW and 485N·m of torque, with a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 5.7 seconds. The vehicle’s suspension system combines a front MacPherson strut and a rear multi-link setup. The new model is installed with lithium iron phosphate battery pack with 7 range options, ranging from 310km to 605km.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
