YANGWANG, BYD's high-end brand, recently rolled out significant OTA updates for its U8 Luxury Edition (V2.1.0) and U8 Off-road Player Edition (V2.1.1).

Beijing (Gasgoo)- YANGWANG, BYD's high-end brand, recently rolled out significant OTA updates for its U8 Luxury Edition (V2.1.0) and U8 Off-road Player Edition (V2.1.1). The updates bring 19 new features and 16 optimizations to the Luxury Edition, and 18 new features with 17 enhancements to the Off-road Player Edition. Notably, the U8 Luxury Edition now supports nationwide urban navigation pilot function.

The key highlight of this OTA is the expansion of urban navigation pilot coverage across mainland China, excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. Previously limited to seven cities after its initial launch in Shenzhen, the system now provides comprehensive support for navigating all regions.

Powered by NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) technology, the feature leverages an advanced end-to-end model architecture and multi-sensor fusion to handle tasks such as navigating complex intersections, traffic lights, overtaking, obstacle avoidance, rerouting, and lane changes without reliance on high-definition maps.

The update is underpinned by BYD's "God's Eye" BAS 3.0+ Superhuman Driving Assistance system, which integrates the YANGWANG U8's advanced features such as the e4 platform and DiSus Intelligent Body Control System for a holistic smart driving experience.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
