TrinaSolar recently announced the establishment of a strategic partnership with AMEA Power, a major clean energy company in the Middle East, to jointly develop a large-scale energy storage project in Egypt.

The project will provide the Abydos energy storage project in Aswan, Egypt, with a cutting-edge Elementa2 platform (5MWh) totaling 300MWh. This project represents the largest solar PV initiative in Africa to date and is Egypt's first utility-scale battery energy storage system project.

The Abydos project is TrinaSolar's first energy storage project in the Middle East and Africa. The Elementa2 platform (5MWh) provided by TrinaSolar utilizes its in-house vertically integrated LFP batteries, an advanced grid-scale battery storage system.

AMEA Power, headquartered in Dubai, is a clean energy company that has deployed clean energy projects with a total capacity of 6GW across 20 countries.

The Abydos energy storage project, developed by AMEA Power, is an expansion project of the existing 500MW Abydos solar PV power plant in the Kom Ombo region of Aswan, which was just announced operational this month. The project not only achieves efficient utilization of clean energy but also enhances the stability of the local power grid.

Wu Guanjun, TrinaSolar's Global Vice President of Sales and Head of the Middle East and Africa region, emphasized, "The Abydos project highlights the critical role of TrinaStorage's technological innovation in supporting Egypt's clean energy transition."

It is worth noting that the project is being constructed by Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd.
