Beijing (Gasgoo)- Autonomous trucking solution developer KargoBot announced that on December 18, Shaanxi Automobile delivered the 10,000th new energy heavy-duty truck to the company. The truck is equipped with L4 autonomous driving technology.

The collaboration aims to offer users fully autonomous heavy-duty truck solutions, "virtual driver", and intelligent freight scheduling services, creating a green, smart freight ecosystem centered on "new energy + autonomous driving."

Since 2021, KargoBot has conducted L4 autonomous freight operations in Ordos, focusing on bulk commodities. Partnering with Shaanxi Automobile, the two companies have enhanced vehicle performance through scenario-specific adaptations, jointly developed redundant chassis technology, and established an integrated R&D and mass-production system for autonomous heavy-duty trucks. These efforts have resulted in the launch of multiple high-quality mass-produced autonomous heavy-duty truck models.

To date, nearly 300 of their collaborative trucks have been deployed for real-world testing and operations, forming the industry's largest autonomous truck fleet. This has provided invaluable experience for further technical optimization and commercial application.

KargoBot's L4 autonomous hybrid convoy solution, when combined with new energy trucks, offers notable cost advantages in medium- and short-distance transport. Each truck saves around 100,000–200,000 yuan annually, offsetting the higher upfront purchase costs, said the company. Additionally, these vehicles significantly reduce CO₂ emissions and lower overall logistics costs by 20% through smart freight scheduling.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
