CISA Reports Decline in Social Steel Inventory to 6.71 Million mt in Mid-December

CISA: Social Steel Inventory Reached 6.71 Million mt in Mid-December, Down 140,000 mt MoM

According to the China Iron and Steel Association, in mid-December, the social steel inventory of five major steel products across 21 cities stood at 6.71 million mt, down 140,000 mt MoM, a decrease of 2.0%, hitting a new low. Compared to the beginning of the year, the inventory decreased by 580,000 mt, down 8.0%; compared to the same period last year, it decreased by 480,000 mt, down 6.7%.

In mid-December, the rebar inventory was 2.6 million mt, down 170,000 mt MoM, a decrease of 6.1%, continuing its downward trend. Compared to the beginning of the year, it decreased by 450,000 mt, down 14.8%; compared to the same period last year, it decreased by 330,000 mt, down 11.3%.
