Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 21, XPENG announced the grand opening of its first automobile store in Australia. The store features the XPENG G6 model and the company's flying car as its centerpiece exhibits.

The XPENG G6, which hit the market in China in June 2023, is an all-electric mid-sized coupe SUV. Equipped with an 800V high-voltage charging system, the G6 can gain up to 300 km of range with 10 minutes of charging. It boasts a range of 755 km under the CLTC condition and a combined power consumption of 13.2 kWh per 100 km.

Additionally, the XPENG G6 is fitted with 31 advanced driver-assistance sensors, including an optional LiDAR device. The dual Orin-X chips can deliver a total computing power of 508 TOPS, while the XNet deep visual neural network enhances environmental perception.

This year, XPENG has been stepping up its international market expansion. The company has introduced several intelligent electric vehicle models in various countries, including Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Iceland, Spain, and Portugal. Additionally, XPENG has expanded into the Middle Eastern and African countries.

In October, XPENG partnered with Ali & Sons Holding LLC to host a market launch event in Dubai for the G6 and G9 models. This marked XPENG's official entry into the UAE market and a significant milestone in its Middle Eastern strategy.

In November, XPENG signed an official dealership agreement with IML (International Motors Ltd.), a European distributor for automobile manufacturers, marking the company's official entry into the UK market. XPENG said its first model to be launched in the UK would be the G6, which is expected to hit the market in early 2025.

XPENG plans to continue expanding into key markets in Europe, ASEAN, the Middle East, Latin America, and Oceania. At the Paris Motor Show 2024, the company announced its goal to enter over 60 countries and regions globally by the end of 2025. Over the next decade, it aims for its overseas sales to account for half of its total sales.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
