Shanghai (Gasgoo)- EVE Energy provided three battery cell production lines for the XPENG P7+ model at its market launch, as reported by an automobile blogger on December 20 via Sina Weibo, a Chinese social media platform akin to Twitter. Due to the model's higher-than-expected sales performance, the company quickly added the fourth production line within one month of the car's release, with plans to add two more lines next month to fully support P7+ production and delivery.
Wu Anfei, XPENG's head of R&D for the P/G series models, reposted the blogger's Weibo, expressing gratitude for the support from EVE Energy and other suppliers.
Mr. Wu also noted that the delivery cycle for the XPENG P7+ has been shortened to 5-8 weeks after three ramp-ups in production capacity, more than three weeks shorter than the initial delivery period. Some customers, who had originally been scheduled to receive their cars after the Chinese New Year, may now receive them before the holiday.
The XPENG P7+ officially hit the market on November 7, offering three trim levels, priced between 186,800 yuan and 218,800 yuan. The P7+ has achieved 10,000 units of cumulative deliveries within four weeks of its market launch.
The P7+ model maintains the company's signature "Robot Face" front fascia with a full-width LED light.
The interior of the P7+ adopts a minimalist design, similar to that of the XPENG X9. The vehicle includes a 15.6-inch central touchscreen powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip.
According to XPENG's introduction, the model features built-in AI-powered advanced ADAS (advanced driver-assistance system) across the entire lineup, equipped with XPENG's in-house developed XOS 5.4 and the AI Hawkeye Visual Solution. The AI Hawkeye Visual Solution incorporates two 8M cameras, millimeter-wave radars, and ultrasonic radars, delivering clear, precise, and extended-range vision, enabling the P7+ to perform effectively in various lighting and weather conditions, from low light to high contrast environments. The XOS 5.4 platform enhances human-like interaction fourfold, with a 53% increase in lane-change success and a 155% improvement in detour handling.
As for power performance, the P7+ offers two power options: a low-power version with a maximum output of 180 kW, and a high-power version with a peak output of 230 kW.
