SMM officially becomes associate member of Cobalt Institute!

After becoming a member of the Cobalt Institute, SMM is expected to establish deeper cooperation with the organization. Leveraging strengths in industry analysis and conferences & exhibitions, SMM will regularly host domestic and international exchange activities for the cobalt and new energy industries to promote industry communication. Additionally, SMM will share insights at the Cobalt Institute's sharing sessions and the annual Cobalt Congress, contributing to the development of the cobalt industry both domestically and internationally.

As the leading market information provider in the non-ferrous sector, SMM has been engaging in the cobalt industry and actively participating in and facilitating the communication and opinions exchange:

At the Li-ion Battery Europe 2024 hosted by SMM, Marina Demidova, Head of Communications at the Cobalt Institute, participated as a guest speaker in the panel discussion.

Tom Fairlie, Senior Manager of Sustainability at the Cobalt Institute, participated in the roundtable forum on ESG standards and implementation paths for the nickel and cobalt industry at the SMM 2024 Indonesia Critical Metals Conference.

Marina Demidova, Head of Communications at the Cobalt Institute, also participated in the SMM 2024 Indonesia Critical Metals Conference and shared insights on the global cobalt market in 2023.

Moreover, Dr. Yancheng Wang, Managing Director of SMM GLOBAL UK LTD, delivered a keynote speech on the Chinese cobalt market at the 2024 Cobalt Congress, annual assembly of Cobalt Institute.

In 2025, the collaboration between the two parties will further deepen. Susannah McLaren, Head of Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability at the Cobalt Institute, and Tom Fairlie, Sustainability Manager, are expected to participate in the 2025 Indonesia Critical Metals Conference and deliver speeches.
