Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 16, FAW-Volkswagen's JETTA VA7 came off the production line at the company's Chengdu factory, according to a press release from Chengdu Daily. Based on Volkswagen's modular transverse toolkit (MQB) platform, the new model has been available for pre-sales, starting at 118,777 yuan.

The exterior of the JETTA VA7 adopts the brand's latest family design language, featuring a polygonal front grille filled with intricate dot matrix elements, creating a refined look. Additionally, the front bumper is equipped with a full-width chrome-plated trim, which adds a sporty touch to the front end.

The side profile follows the typical sedan silhouette, with a sharp character line running from the front fender to the rear taillights, creating a dynamic effect.

As for size, the vehicle measures 4,773mm in length, 1,789mm in width, and 1,469mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,731mm.

At the rear, the JETTA VA7 shares a striking resemblance with Volkswagen Sagitar, featuring a small upward-tilted "ducktail" spoiler. The taillights maintain the design from the previous Sagitar model. The rear bumper features a chrome-plated trim like the front fascia.

Inside, the JETTA VA7 adopts a T-shaped layout, equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster and a large floating central touchscreen. The touchscreen is tilted toward the driver’s side for easy viewing and operation. The vehicle also features leather seats with white stitching.

Under the hood, the JETTA VA7 is powered by a 1.4T engine that produces a maximum output of 110kW and 250Nm of torque. It is paired with a 7-speed dry dual-clutch transmission, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
