[China's Newly Installed PV Capacity Reached 25GW in November 2024]

According to the National Energy Administration's national power industry statistics, China's newly installed PV capacity in November 2024 was 25GW, up 17.3% YoY and 22.4% MoM. From January to November 2024, the cumulative newly installed PV capacity reached 206.3GW, up 25.9% YoY. By the end of November 2024, the country's total installed solar power generation capacity was approximately 820 million kW, up 46.7% YoY.

[Solar: Bangladesh introduces $0.086/kWh tariff for net-metered rooftop solar with 5 GW target]

Bangladesh's Power Division announced a tariff of BDT 10.50 ($0.086)/kWh for surplus electricity from eligible rooftop solar systems under the country's net-metering regime, valid for three years through February 28, 2030. The maximum generation cost for rooftop solar systems with battery storage has been set at BDT 8/kWh, with the government adding a 20% profit margin and an 11.25% premium. Systems installed by February 28, 2027, qualifying under the Net Metering Guidelines 2025 are eligible for the incentive tariff. The government aims to install at least 5 GW of solar capacity through net metering by next summer to help address daily power shortages exceeding 3 GW during peak summer demand.
