Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese smart electric vehicle manufacturer NIO recently released the official image of the ET9 model's mass-produced version on its Weibo account, a Twitter-like social media platform.

The ET9 is positioned as a flagship executive sedan, which measures 5,325mm in length, 2,016mm in width, and 1,620mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,250mm. The model features NIO's signature design language, with a sleek fastback shape that departs from traditional sedan styles.

In terms of the exterior, the ET9 adopts integrated X-Bar and Double Dash daytime running lights, with hardware such as LiDAR and cameras seamlessly integrated into the body. Additionally, the model features a front trunk and special coated rear glasses to protect the privacy of passengers.

Inside, the ET9 adopts a minimalist style, with a multifunctional steering wheel in an almost rectangular shape, a long-bar instrument cluster, and a large floating central touchscreen, devoid of physical buttons.

The ET9 adopts a four-seat layout. The model offers a 360-degree versatile tray table for the passengers in the rear seats, which can be adjusted at any angle. The rear seats feature a maximum backrest adjustment angle of 45 degrees, a seat cushion width of 582mm, and 11 adjustments with one click.

Notably, NIO said the ET9 will be China's first mass-produced model to adopt steer-by-wire technology. Free from mechanical connections, this system uses electric signals for transmission and control, enabling free angle and torque of steering wheels, allowing for precise control, low latency, and high system efficiency, while also providing flexibility in layout.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
