Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 19, 2024, LUXEED, the premium new energy vehicle brand co-developed by Huawei and Chery, officially put the REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) edition of its LUXEED R7 model onto the market. Coming with two variants, the new vehicle is priced between 249,800 yuan and 289,800 yuan, which is 10,000 yuan less than the starting price of the BEV (battery electric vehicle) version.

As LUXEED's first REEV model, the new vehicle's base variant lacks LiDAR sensor, while the higher-spec trim includes it, consistent with the BEV edition. Deliveries are scheduled to begin on January 5, 2025.

Externally, the LUXEED R7 REEV closely mirrors its BEV counterpart, with the addition of a new color scheme. The vehicle measures 4,956 mm in length, 1,981 mm in width, 1,634 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,950 mm, identical to the all-electric vehicle version.

The interior features a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel positioned at a distance to minimize glare, enhancing readability. Standard amenities across all trim levels include ventilated, heated, and massaging seats. The front passenger seat boasts a zero-gravity design with 18-way adjustment, 10-point massage functionality, and a 340mm heated leg rest. Additionally, all variants come equipped with electric sunshades, double-glazed soundproof and thermal insulation glass for both front and rear windows, with the rear windows also offering privacy features.

Under the hood, the R7 REEV model is powered by a 1.5T engine delivering a maximum output of 115 kW (156 horsepower). It is paired with a 36.019 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack and enables a top speed of 200 km/h. The battery-powered range varies between 195 km and 201 km, while the combined CLTC range reaches up to 1,570 km.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
