Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 19, Tusimple announced its rebranding as CreateAI, signaling a strategic pivot toward revolutionizing the animation and video game industries through innovative AI technologies. This transformation underscores the company's commitment to leveraging its autonomous driving expertise while exploring disruptive opportunities in content creation.
In the meantime, CreateAI unveiled significant advancements in generative AI. The company has secured official licensing for the renowned martial arts IP (intellectual property) "Heroes of Jin Yong" and is set to develop a large-scale open-world RPG (role-playing game) based on the franchise.
In collaboration with the acclaimed anime director Shoji Kawamori and leading animation studio Shirogumi Inc., CreateAI will also work on the Three-Body Problem IP. By integrating AIGC (AI-generated content) technologies, the team aims to push creative boundaries in portraying expansive cosmic civilizations.
CreateAI additionally launched its first large-scale AI model, Ruyi, an open-source image-to-video generative tool available for free on Hugging Face. Positioned as a foundational element of the company's proprietary AI infrastructure, "Ruyi" will serve as the backbone for developing various generative AI tools tailored to game and animation production.
Explaining the open-source strategy, CreateAI emphasized its goal of empowering creators by providing the "best open-source image-to-video model for personal use." By fostering a user-driven ecosystem, the company seeks to enhance efficiency and innovation. Remarkably, the development of "Ruyi" took less than six months, demonstrating how Tusimples autonomous driving expertise has granted CreateAI a competitive edge in the generative AI domain.
On the same day, CreateAI released its updated business plan, addressing key industry challenges and detailing its roadmap for sustainable competitive advantage. The plan highlights the company's stable management team, its use of real-world applications to drive an AI innovation flywheel, and its long-term vision to address critical industry pain points.
