Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 18, GAC Group officially launched its eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft brand "GOVYat a press event, debuting the brand's second model, the GOVY AirJet.

GOVY's core business encompasses the R&D, manufacturing, sales, and service of eVTOL aircrafts and related ecosystem products. The brand's strategy focuses on "full-stack self-developed core technologies, innovative intelligent customer engagement and operation platforms, and leveraging GAC Group's mature automotive industrial chain and ecosystem." The goal is to deliver systematic solutions spanning products to platforms.

The GOVY AirJet, also the brand's first hybrid-wing model, stands 2.3 meters tall and features a white, black, and blue color scheme. It is equipped with GAC's proprietary electric drive system and lightweight battery assembly technology. The vehicle boasts a range of over 200 km and supports 30-minute fast charging. In the future, the AirJet is expected to adopt GAC's self-developed solid-state batteries, potentially extending its range to over 400 km.

To cater to diverse mobility needs, GOVY unveiled two models: the GOVY AirCar for short-distance travel within 20 km and the aforesaid GOVY AirJet for medium-range travel within 200 km.

GAC Group plans to build a Robo-AirTaxi end-to-end low-altitude transportation system, integrating flying cars into multi-dimensional mobility scenarios. GAC Group's General Manager, Feng Xingya, noted that this initiative aligns with current trends, combining GAC's ground mobility services, such as ONTIME, with low-altitude solutions to offer a comprehensive intelligent travel ecosystem.

By 2027, GAC Group aims to implement a demonstration operation plan for eVTOL aircrafts in 2-3 cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, creating a seamless "multi-station-ground-air" intelligent mobility service chain.

GAC Group also revealed plans to begin airworthiness certification for its eVTOL products by 2025, while laying the groundwork for running of production lines and pre-orders. Additionally, the group intends to incubate a new technology company focused on low-altitude economy businesses.
