Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 10, Chinese lithium battery supplier EVE Energy officially inaugurated its new 60GWh super energy storage factory in Jingmen city, Hubei province, with the 628Ah ultra-high-capacity cell "Mr.Big" put into production there, according to a press release from the company’s official website.

In 2022, EVE Energy initiated the R&D of high-capacity cells with the 560Ah cell launched. The company has now achieved volume production of the 628Ah cells. The high-capacity cells can reduce costs and integration complexity of energy storage systems, while increasing energy density and safety. Additionally, they also require fewer components when the cells are assembled into a battery pack, further lowering costs.

In addition, EVE Energy collaborated with Professor Yang Hanxi of Wuhan University to develop an electrochemical current collector model, so as to address thermal management and efficiency challenges associated with large-capacity cells. This innovative design reduces internal resistance, minimizing heat generation and enhancing cell safety and reliability.

In terms of safety and reliability, EVE Energy has introduced smart cell technology, leveraging intelligent sensors to monitor critical indicators like gas levels and temperatures of cells in real time. This system provides early warnings and defensive measures in case of anomalies, ensuring operational safety and reliability.

EVE Energy's 60GWh super energy storage factory, the largest energy storage factory by single-unit capacity in the industry, is equipped with over 80 advanced technologies and operates with full-process automation. The factory boasts a production rate of 1.5 cells per second, completing four battery packs per minute, with a daily output exceeding 5MWh.

As for quality management, EVE Energy is committed to targeting defect rates at the PPB (parts per billion) level. Its factory has adopted stringent manufacturing standards and achieved a comprehensive digital quality control system. Each cell is assigned a unique "data package" and "battery passport" to ensure traceability in the full lifecycle.
