[Sodium Battery Project Progress: Energy's Liaoning Sodium Battery Cathode and Phase I Project Near Completion]
On December 16, 2024, the Phase I project of the sodium-ion battery project by Liaoning Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is nearing completion. It includes a production line with an annual capacity of 2,000 mt of polyanion cathode active material and a production line for 0.5 GWh sodium-ion batteries and energy storage systems. The project is planned to cover a total area of 351 mu and will be constructed in four phases, with a total investment of 4.5 billion yuan. Once fully completed, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of 20 billion yuan and generate 800 million yuan in tax revenue.

Since the commencement of Phase I in September 2024, the equipment procurement and construction of the main plant structure have been successfully completed. Equipment installation and commissioning are scheduled for January 2025, with the goal of officially putting it into operation in April 2025. Upon reaching full production, this phase is expected to achieve an annual output value of 150 million yuan and generate 5 million yuan in annual tax revenue. Meanwhile, land acquisition for the second phase of the project has already commenced.
