On February 26, 2024, the TANK 700 Hi4-T officially hit the Chinese market, with three trim levels introduced, priced between 428,000 yuan and 700,000 yuan. The vehicle is available in two exterior versions: the standard model and a limited edition. In terms of dimensions, the TANK 700 Hi4-T measures 5,090 mm in length, 2,061 mm in width, and 1,952 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. Its approach and departure angles are 37.8 degrees and 37.6 degrees, respectively, with a maximum ground clearance of 282 mm and a maximum wading depth of 970 mm.

The vehicle is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbocharged engine combined with a P2 electric motor in a plug-in hybrid system, delivering a combined output of 385 kW and a peak torque of 800 Nm (850 Nm for the limited edition). The 9-speed automatic transmission dedicated to plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) allows the TANK 700 Hi4-T to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just five seconds. It offers a battery-powered range of 100 km under the NEDC testing cycle, while its WLTC combined fuel consumption is 2.97 L/100 km.

Equipped with an intelligent four-wheel-drive system and Mlock mechanical locking system, the TANK 700 Hi4-T features front and rear differential locks made from high-strength aluminum alloy for improved durability and wear resistance.

Besides, the new-generation intelligent four-wheel-drive system enables the selection of four modes: rear-wheel drive (economic mode), intelligent four-wheel drive (AWD), high-speed four-wheel drive, and low-speed four-wheel drive. The system also includes a new electromagnetic clutch system capable of locking torque to the front and rear axles within milliseconds, optimizing the vehicle's off-road performance. The vehicle offers a multi-mode all-terrain system with options including standard, economy, sport, snow, mud, sand, rock, wading, 4H, 4L, automatic, and expert modes.

GWM revealed plans to expand its lineup of off-road vehicles in Kazakhstan to meet the diverse needs of local consumers.

In November 2024, GWM recorded a 66% year-on-year surge in retail sales in Kazakhstan, with the TANK brand securing second place by retail sales of off-road SUVs in the country.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
