Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Recently, Scientic Microelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. (Scientic), a Chinese manufacturer of high-performance magnetic power components, announced the completion of its Series A funding, raising nearly 100 million yuan. This round was led by Zhuhai Gree Financial Investment Management Co., Ltd. (Gree), a subsidiary of Gree Group.
The new round of investment will be directed toward the development of magnetic materials and adhesives, as well as the expansion of product lines including integrated mini inductors, automotive-grade inductors, and AI computing power inductors.
Founded in June 2020, Scientic focuses on proprietary raw material development, process innovation, and independent brand operations. Its product portfolio spans smartphones, tablets, wearable devices, security systems, modules, automotive applications, renewable energy, industrial control, and AI computing power. Notably, its self-developed small-sized wire wound power inductor (a type of chip inductor) has already entered mass production.
In the consumer electronics sector, Scientic's inductors are widely used in products such as smartphones, tablets, wearable devices, modules, and smart home systems, spanning major brands including HUAWEI, Samsung, Meta, HARMAN, Xiaomi, Redmi, OPPO, realme, OnePlus, vivo, HONOR, Lenovo, moto, MEIZU, Transsion, and ZTE.
Scientic revealed plans to expand its production capacity to better meet global supply demands. The company's 30,000-square-meter factory in Zhuhai is expected to complete renovations by the end of April 2025, with an initial goal of increasing the monthly production capacity for mini inductors to 300 million units by June 2025. Once operational, total monthly production capacity for these inductors will reach 550 million units.
In the smart car sector, Scientic's automotive-grade inductors have already been employed in telematics, smart cockpits, and entertainment systems. The products, which have obtained CNAS laboratory accreditation certification and ACE-Q200 qualification, are now used in vehicle models from manufacturers such as Toyota and BYD.
Scientic has initiated R&D on various inductors specifications that are tailored to different AI power supply requirements. The company aims to deliver products characterized by high reliability, high efficiency, and low heat generation, aligning with diverse power architectures. It is dedicated to supporting AI-powered hardware applications, including AI-enabled smartphones, tablets, laptops, smart home devices, security systems, storage solutions, cloud computing systems, and automotive applications.
