Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 11, Chinese smart electric vehicle maker XPENG announced on its Weibo account, a Twitter-like social media platform in China, that the XPENG P7+ model has achieved 10,000 units of cumulative deliveries within four weeks of its market launch.
Earlier this year, XPENG Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng revealed at the company's Q3 earnings call that XPENG is working with suppliers to expand production capacity, with deliveries of the P7+ model expected to surpass 10,000 units in December. He also mentioned that the production of both the M03 and P7 models has been switched to double shifts.
The XPENG P7+ officially hit the market on November 7 this year. It offers three trim levels: the Long Range Max, the Ultra Long Range Max, and the Limited Edition Max, priced at 186,800 yuan, 198,800 yuan, and 218,800 yuan, respectively.
Mr. He shared on social media that the P7+ secured over 10,000-unit fixed orders within 12 minutes on the market. He revealed that many customers failed to place their orders due to server crashes caused by the overwhelming demand.
In terms of design, the P7+ model maintains the company's signature "Robot Face" front with a full-width LED light strip.
Inside, the P7+ model adopts a minimalist style, similar to that of the XPENG X9.
According to XPENG's introduction, the model features built-in AI-powered advanced ADAS (advanced driver-assistance system) across the entire lineup, equipped with XPENG's in-house developed XOS 5.4 and the AI Hawkeye Visual Solution. The AI Hawkeye Visual Solution incorporates two 8M cameras, millimeter-wave radars, and ultrasonic radars, delivering clear, precise, and extended-range vision, enabling the P7+ to perform effectively in various lighting and weather conditions, from low light to high contrast environments. The XOS 5.4 platform enhances human-like interaction fourfold, with a 53% increase in lane-change success and a 155% improvement in detour handling.
Besides, the P7+ cockpit integrates XPENG's proprietary X-GPT model, with the Qualcomm 8295P cockpit chip for 50% enhanced performance. The interior features a 15.6-inch central control screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, and an 8-inch rear entertainment screen with three-screen connectivity.
Regarding power performance, the P7+ offers two options: a low-power version with a maximum output of 180 kW, and a high-power version with a peak output of 230 kW.
