Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 10, Autoliv, a global vehicle safety system supplier, held an opening ceremony for its new factory in Guangzhou city, according to a post on the company's WeChat account. The inauguration marks a further expansion of Autoliv's production capacity of automotive safety systems in China.

Constructed in 11 months, the new factory, covering an area of approximately 32,311 square meters, is now fully operational.

The company said the new facility will continue to focus on the production of airbags and seat belts in Guangzhou. This capacity expansion enables Autoliv to better meet the growing demands of local clients and provide them with high-quality and efficient services.

Mr. Mikael Bratt, President and CEO of Autoliv, highlighted in his speech that the opening of the Guangzhou factory marks an important step in the company's long-term development. He stated, "We will continue to accelerate our pace in the Chinese market, constantly explore ways to meet clients' demands, and lead the way in this rapidly evolving market."

In line with its commitment to building an intelligent, green, modern, and comfortable factory, Autoliv has achieved three major upgrades at the new facility. Firstly, the company established an intelligent automated warehouse, significantly improving warehouse space utilization, storage capacity, and logistics efficiency. Secondly, upholding the green and sustainable development philosophy, the new factory has installed energy-efficient equipment and solar power systems, along with comprehensive wastewater treatment and recycling systems, effectively reducing energy consumption and minimizing its environmental carbon footprint. Thirdly, the factory has created a warm, comfortable, and safe office environment, equipped with modern, intelligent facilities that provide convenience for employees and enhance work efficiency.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
