Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Recently, thirty Yutong fuel cell heavy-duty trucks, with key components supplied by FTXT-Liyuan, a joint venture between FTXT Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (FTXT) and Henan Liyuan Group (Liyuan Group), were officially put into operation in Anyang city, Henan province, according to a post on FTXT's WeChat account. The trucks will primarily be used to transport coke for Liyuan Group.

The latest move marks a significant milestone in the cooperation between FTXT and Liyuan Group in promoting hydrogen vehicle applications in Henan province. It also represents a key collaboration between FTXT and Yutong Group, a Chinese main commercial vehicle manufacturer, following the success on hydrogen-powered buses.

The fleet consists of 49-tonne fuel cell heavy-duty trucks, co-developed by FTXT and Yutong Trucks. These trucks are equipped with FTXT-Liyuan's latest 120 kW fuel cell engine, offering advantages such as minimal noise, low hydrogen consumption, and a driving range of over 500 kilometers. The integration of hydrogen-electric coupling design ensures the safety of hydrogen use and better adaptability to various operational conditions, including long-distance and heavy-load scenarios.

Upon delivery, the trucks will primarily operate on several coke transportation routes for Liyuan Group, with round-trip distances ranging from 20 to 50 kilometers.

This new cooperation will support Liyuan Group in developing an efficient and environmentally friendly hydrogen logistics system, and establishing key demonstration scenarios for hydrogen-powered heavy-duty truck applications in Anyang city.

As a major coal enterprise in Henan province, Liyuan Group can produce 70,000 cubic meters of high-purity hydrogen (99.999% purity) daily. Once fully operational, the project is set to generate 100 million cubic meters of hydrogen annually. Liyuan Group also operates a modern logistics park with an annual transportation capacity of 7 million tonnes, as well as a hydrogen refueling station with a daily refueling capacity of 2,000 kg.

Yutong Trucks has operated a complete range of fuel cell vehicle product portfolio, including buses, tractors, dump trucks, and sanitation vehicles. It has deployed nearly 3,000 hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles.

Previously, FTXT and Liyuan Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement that involves the entire hydrogen industry chain, including the production, storage, transportation, refueling, and application of hydrogen, as well as high-end equipment manufacturing and intelligent management platforms. The two companies also collaborated with Yutong on hydrogen-powered buses.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
