This marks the company's second major product line following the BAO series and establishes a new direction for household rugged electric vehicles.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 10, BYD's FANGCHENGBAO brand officially unveiled its new household-oriented rugged product series, TAI (named in Chinese Pinyin, written in "钛" in Chinese character, translating to "Titanium"). This marks the company's second major product line following the BAO series and establishes a new direction for "household rugged" electric vehicles.

The name "TAI" draws inspiration from titanium widely known for its versatility, high ductility, and adaptability. FANGCHENGBAO said the TAI series aims to emulate these qualities, offering robust product capabilities to enhance everyday life while pioneering innovations for the next generation of electric vehicles.

According to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the TAI 3, a model from this new series, has been listed in the 390th batch of the "Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products Announcement." The vehicle is set to hit the market in the first half of next year.

According to the MIIT's images, the TAI 3 features a closed-off front grille flanked by smoked headlights with slim LED light sources. Its rugged look is complemented by an off-road-style front bumper and a design language that favors angular contours. Additional exterior elements include hidden door handles, horizontal LED taillights, and a roof rack.

In terms of dimensions, the standard version measures 4,605 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,720 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,745 mm.

Notably, an optional drone compartment version raises the vehicle's height from the standard 1,720 mm to 1,930 mm.

The rear design incorporates a trapezoidal backpack-like feature, likely serving as extra storage space. Triangular accents in the rear bumper align with the vehicle's overall geometric aesthetic, and the rear end is fitted with a dual-stage spoiler.

The TAI 3 is powered by a dual-motor all-electric drivetrain, with a front motor generating 110 kW and a rear motor delivering 200 kW. Two tire options will be available: 235/60R18 and 245/50R19.

Details on additional configurations and features have yet to be disclosed, with further information expected from the company in the near future.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
