Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Bosch announced on December 9 via one of its official WeChat accounts that its cumulative global shipments of millimeter-wave radar have exceeded 100 million units, with over 30 million contributed by the Chinese market.

Bosch introduced its fourth-generation millimeter-wave radar to China in 2014, achieving its first application in Geely vehicles for single-radar automatic emergency braking (AEB) systems. Bosch noted that this technology laid a foundation for the proliferation of autonomous driving functionalities and significantly boosted demand for millimeter-wave radars in the Chinese market.

After years of innovation and iteration, Bosch has launched its sixth-generation millimeter-wave radar, featuring significant advancements. Leveraging an integrated computing chip, the proprietary LiP packaging powered by 3D cavity waveguide antenna, and Bosch's JSFMCW linear frequency modulation technology, the latest radar greatly enhances resolution and long-distance target detection.

Key performance highlights include:

● A detection range of up to 300 meters for front radars and 210 meters for corner radars.

● Wide field-of-view coverage: 120° horizontal and 30° vertical.

●Improved detection of low-reflectivity objects, such as bicycles and motorcycles.

● Enhanced target classification and blind-spot detection via deep learning algorithms.

The radar also supports varied vehicle architectures with high-efficiency communication interfaces such as CAN-FD, CAN-SiC, and Ethernet, offering data transfer speeds of up to 1000 Mbit/s. These systems provide rich point cloud and target data, supporting SAE Level 0 to Level 3 autonomous driving scenarios.

In the radar domain, Bosch has partnered with over 55 global automakers, contributing to more than 290 production models currently on the market.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
