On December 6, COSCO SHIPPING Holdings Co., Ltd. (COSCO SHIPPING), Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd. (SIPG) signed a capital injection agreement with SAIC Anji Logistics.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 6, COSCO SHIPPING Holdings Co., Ltd. (COSCO SHIPPING), Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd. (SIPG) signed a capital injection agreement with SAIC Motor Corporation Limited (SAIC Motor), SAIC Capital Company Limited, and SAIC Anji Logistics Co., Ltd., according to a post on SAIC Motor's WeChat account.

SAIC Motor said the new investment complies with the relevant provisions of the Supervision and Administration Measures on State-owned Assets Transactions in Enterprises, and has been publicly listed on the Shanghai United Assets and Equity Exchange in line with the requirements of state-owned assets supervision. Currently, the project is progressing as planned.

According to the agreement, COSCO SHIPPING and SIPG will each invest 1 billion yuan (excluding transaction fees), subscribing to 75 million yuan of newly issued registered capital in SAIC Anji Logistics. Upon the capital increase, SAIC Anji Logistics' registered capital will rise from 600 million yuan to 750 million yuan.

The capital will be used to support the international expansion of SAIC Anji Logistics, including investment in roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) vessels and the development of extended logistics services in key overseas markets. The goal is to establish a seamless, door-to-door global automotive logistics service system.

The new investment strengthens the long-term strategic cooperation between COSCO SHIPPING, SIPG, and SAIC Motor. It will help drive the deep integration of modern services and advanced manufacturing, accelerating the development of a global, digital supply chain ecosystem. The move is also expected to bolster Shanghai's position in the international shipping market and contribute to the construction of Shanghai as a global shipping hub.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
