Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC Group announced this week that its automobile sales reached 198,992 units in November 2024, indicating a month-on-month growth of 7.11% despite a year-on-year decline of 12.39%.
Notably, the sales figure for November represented the highest level the group achieved so far this year.
Regarding the monthly performance of specific subsidiaries, both GAC Trumpchi and GAC AION, the two passenger vehicle makers wholly-owned by GAC Group, saw their November sales rise over the previous year. However, the two main Sino-Japanese joint ventures-GAC Honda and GAC Toyota—still faced a year-on-year downturn in the same month.
For the first eleven months of 2024, GAC Group posted a 23.42% drop from the previous year in its cumulative sales, which came in at 1,719,827 vehicles.
The group's new energy vehicle (NEV) sector recorded a sales volume of 50,226 vehicles in November 2024, which edged down 0.01% from the year-ago period. As for the year-to-date performance, GAC Group's NEV sales amounted to 377,421 units, sliding 23.12% from the year-ago period.
In addition, GAC Group reported an export volume of around 118,000 vehicles for the Jan.-Nov. period this year, which surged 79% from a year earlier.
In November, GAC Group advanced its international expansion with significant progress in Latin America, North Africa, and the Middle East. A diverse lineup of GAC models, including the EMZOOM, EMKOO, All New GS8, AION Y, and AION ES, has entered multiple Latin American markets such as Colombia, Guatemala, and Uruguay, accelerating the group's presence in the region.
GAC Group also marked its official entry into the North African market with the opening of its first brand showroom in Tripoli, Libya. In the Middle East, the group unveiled its dual brands, GAC MOTOR and AION, in Oman, further solidifying its market presence in the region.
Additionally, the AION V, GAC AION's first global strategic model, made its international debut at the 41st Thailand International Motor Expo, marking its first overseas launch.
