The groundbreaking ceremony for Xiaomi's smart home appliance factory took place on November 26 in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone in Wuhan. The project is located in Optics Valley, and the first phase will establish a smart manufacturing demonstration factory for household air conditioners, which is expected to be put into operation in November 2025 and achieve mass production in 2026. Additionally, over a hundred advanced laboratories will be set up to achieve a closed loop of design, research and development, and production. Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group, stated that Optics Valley is the home appliance base of Xiaomi Group, where the home appliance headquarters and experimental center have been built. In the future, a research and development center for ten thousand people and Xiaomi's global headquarters for major home appliances will also be established.
