Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Recently, Guangdong Dowstone Technology Co., Ltd. (DOWSTONE), a China-based lithium battery materials manufacturer and distributor, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Anhui Axxiva New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (Axxiva), according to DOWSTONE in a statement.

The two parties will engage in deep collaboration on the development and validation of advanced materials, including solid-state battery's cathode materials, anode materials, and conductive agents, as well as the integration into solid-state battery applications.

DOWSTONE emphasized that this partnership holds strategic significance in deepening its insights in solid-state battery materials, accelerating the industrial application of various materials, and continuously advancing comprehensive material solutions for solid-state batteries.

The collaboration will focus on the joint development and validation of solid-state battery materials and manufacturing processes. Specific areas of cooperation include solid-state cathode materials, anode materials, and conductive agents. According to the agreed technical framework, DOWSTONE will spearhead the development and modification of advanced materials, while Axxiva will design compatible material processing techniques, establish suitable chemical systems, and conduct performance validation based on solid-state battery designs.

DOWSTONE plans to provide support in several areas, including solid-state batteries, carbon nanotubes, lithium battery ternary precursors, graphite anodes, sulfide electrolytes, and silicon anodes. The company will also offer relevant experimental platforms and support customized R&D for Axxiva's new product materials, focusing on cost reduction before going into mass production, while ensuring quality and consistency in production.

In return, Axxiva will leverage its expertise in solid-state batteries to prioritize collaboration with DOWSTONE. Materials developed by DOWSTONE will be used as a priority in Axxiva's products, while DOWSTONE's materials will also be prioritized for use in Axxiva's product lines. By combining their strengths, the two companies aim to jointly develop markets and customers, driving the growth of both the market and the industry.

The partnership aims to establish a robust strategic relationship with seamless coordination across R&D, production, and sales of new products. Leveraging its technical expertise in solid-state batteries and novel materials like carbon nanotubes, DOWSTONE will fully support Axxiva's product development efforts. Together, the companies aim to create innovative products tailored to market demands, translating their strategic partnership into enhanced market competitiveness.

DOWSTONE focuses on the new materials business, with an emphasis on material innovation, process innovation, and product innovation. Starting with ceramic glaze materials, the company has transformed and upgraded its operations, developing a new business model centered on carbon materials, lithium battery materials, ceramic materials, and strategic resources. This shift marks the company's transition from the ceramics industry to the new energy sector.

Maintaining its layout in the ceramics materials business while deeply investing in the evolution of new energy battery materials and cutting-edge products, the company has established an integrated industrial chain that spans nickel-cobalt resources, smelting operations, cathode materials, anode materials, conductive additives, and battery recycling. Currently, its new energy materials business has become a core strategic focus.

Axxiva's business activities primarily encompass research, development, transfer, and consulting services for new energy applications; battery R&D, manufacturing, sales, and recycling; electric vehicle charging services; R&D and sales of power equipment; energy-saving and environmental protection technologies; energy storage technology development; and import/export of goods and technologies. The company also focuses on developing, producing, and selling energy storage products and battery materials, as well as recycling renewable resources.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
