Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On November 28, Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. ("LEAD"), a Chinese manufacturer of lithium battery intelligent equipment, announced the successful delivery of China's first full-tab cylindrical cell production line equipment for export. The equipment will support the battery production line of a leading luxury car manufacturer in Nordlingen, Germany, bolstering the brand's electrification strategy.

The delivery includes custom-designed full-tab cylindrical winding equipment and assembly lines tailored for the automaker's power batteries. These high-performance, uniquely designed batteries serve as energy boosters for premium and sports cars, while also enabling energy recovery and storage for hybrid electric vehicles. This marks the first production line for such batteries established in Europe.

With the accelerating global transition to new energy vehicles, international markets for lithium battery equipment are seeing significant growth opportunities. Beging its globalization strategy in 2018, LEAD has acquired a German automation equipment manufacturer and established a technical competency center in Europe. This integration has significantly enhanced LEAD's technological capabilities and service network within the region, fostering localized production and support.

This year, LEAD has expedited its overseas expansion, optimizing its global service network and resources. It has launched its first European logistics center in Germany to ensure stable and efficient operations for overseas clients. LEAD's products are now exported to more than 20 countries and regions across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, cementing its position as a global leader in lithium battery production equipment.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
