Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On November 30, FTXT Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (FTXT), a China-based specialist in fuel cell systems for the transportation sector, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Synergy Investments LLC (Synergy) to forge a strategic partnership in the field of fuel cell commercial vehicles, according to a post on FTXT's WeChat account.

The signing of this strategic agreement marks a significant step for FTXT in its layout of the Middle Eastern market, and represents a deep cooperation between both parties in the fuel cell commercial vehicle sector.

Under the MoU, both parties will jointly explore the establishment of R&D, production, sales, and related service sites, technical support, and after-sales services for fuel cell commercial vehicles in Oman and other Middle Eastern countries. Together, they aim to develop the fuel cell commercial vehicle market in the Middle East and promote the internationalization of the hydrogen energy industry, FTXT further noted.

As a supplier of fuel cell and hydrogen storage systems, FTXT said it plans to leverage its extensive experience in the field of hydrogen energy to collaborate with vehicle manufacturers to provide Synergy with advanced fuel cell technologies, products, as well as hydrogen-powered vehicles. Synergy will be responsible for market development and localized operations. By fully leveraging their respective industry knowledge, technical capabilities, and resources, the duo plans to implement demonstration projects featuring fuel cell vehicles in the Sultanate of Oman over the next two to three years. They will actively promote the construction of hydrogen energy infrastructure and diversified applications of hydrogen energy scenarios, providing strong support for the development of the hydrogen energy industry in the Middle East.

The Sultanate of Oman (also known as Oman), is situated in the southeastern Arabian Peninsula in the Middle East, bordering countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen. Adjacent to the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea, Oman is a significant oil and gas producer. As the world transitions to cleaner energy sources, Oman has set its sights on hydrogen as a key component of its sustainability goals. Synergy, a energy giant in Oman, is at the forefront of this transition. By capitalizing on its deep-rooted connections and financial capabilities, Synergy is spearheading investments in green hydrogen projects, aligning with Oman's energy transformation strategy.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
