Beijing (Gasgoo)- On December 2, Chinese automotive chip supplier SemiDrive announced an expanded partnership with BlackBerry QNX to co-develop a cutting-edge automotive digital cockpit platform.
The platform, powered by SemiDrive's X9 series SoC, integrates QNX® Hypervisor, QNX® RTOS, and other QNX technologies, enabling automakers and Tier1 suppliers to innovate in the intelligent transportation sector.
SemiDrive is the first and only Chinese chip supplier to adapt its entire product line to BlackBerry QNX technologies. Their partnership began in April 2021 with the launch of an instrument cluster solution based on X9+QNX, which has since been deployed by major Chinese automakers such as SAIC Motor and Chery Auto.
SemiDrive's X9 series BSP now supports BlackBerry's QNX® Neutrino® RTOS 7.1 and QNX® Hypervisor 2.2, allowing developers to create a wider range of automotive applications. Designed to meet diverse cockpit processing needs, the X9 series covers scenarios from entry-level to advanced applications, including instrument clusters, IVI systems, cockpit domain controllers, integrated cabin-parking solutions, and central computing platforms.
Up to now, the X9 series has been deployed in over 40 mainstream vehicle models from manufacturers such as SAIC Motor, Chery Auto, Changan Automobile, GAC Group, BAIC Group, Dongfeng Nissan, and Dongfeng Honda.
