Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On November 28, 2024, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group ("Geely Holding") signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Hangzhou Urban Construction & Investment Group Co., Ltd. ("HZCT") to collaborate in areas such as new energy, green smart transportation, geoinformation, industrial investment, ecological co-construction, and talent exchange, according to a post on the WeChat account of Farizon Auto, the commercial vehicle subsidiary under Geely Holding.

Under the agreement, Farizon Auto will introduce cutting-edge "methanol-hydrogen + electric" products and technologies, customized vehicle production, comprehensive transportation solutions, and plans for a methanol refueling infrastructure. These initiatives aim to establish demonstration applications for methanol-hydrogen electric vehicles in public sectors like sanitation and construction waste transport.

Farizon Auto’s X7M methanol-hydrogen electric dump trucks are already in operation in Hangzhou, where they underwent thorough evaluation by authoritative institutions. Compared to traditional diesel and gas-powered vehicles, these trucks demonstrated superior environmental performance, achieving near-zero emissions, green license privileges, and cost savings of nearly 50% compared to diesel vehicles, said the automaker. This positions the methanol-hydrogen electric heavy trucks as a highly competitive and eco-friendly alternative.

Leveraging Geely's expertise in the methanol industry, Farizon Auto has fully industrialized its unique methanol-hydrogen electric technology. This strategic approach addresses diverse user demands across various scenarios, operating conditions, and regions while promoting integrated development of green methanol production, methanol refueling infrastructure, and methanol-electric vehicles.
