Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Recently, GAC Energy, a subsidairy under GAC Group, officially incorporated two subsidiaries, namely, GAC Energy Technology (Fujian) Co., Ltd. and GAC Energy Technology (Ningbo) Co., Ltd., located in the Xiamen Pilot Free Trade Zone and Yinzhou District of Ningbo city, respectively, according to a post on the company's WeChat account.

GAC Energy said it aims to accelerate its layout of photovoltaic, energy storage, electric vehicle (EV) charging, and battery swapping, as well as V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) technologies through the two subsidiaries, with plans to expand operations across broader regions.

The new companies' business scope extends to cover the construction and operation of photovoltaic, energy storage, EV charging, and battery swapping facilities, product development, technology R&D, and the establishment of digital platforms (integrating research, production, supply, and sales). Following the establishment of the Zhejiang subsidiary, GAC Energy continues to invest there, positioning itself to meet needs of local residents. At the same time, it places significant emphasis on the development of the Fujian market, establishing a rapid expansion framework for future growth.

Currently, GAC Energy has built 395 superfast charging terminals on its 1,000V high-voltage platform in Fujian province and Ningbo city, serving over 150,000 users. The company has established 10 subsidiaries globally, and its headquarters in Guangzhou, regional divisions, and other subsidiaries form a flexible, multi-modal organizational network.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
