GAC Group aims to achieve 30 billion yuan in revenue for its commercial vehicle business by 2030, establishing itself as a key player in the sector.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On November 26, GAC Group hosted its Commercial Vehicle Strategy and Product Launch Conference at the GAC Technology Museum, unveiling the "135" strategic roadmap to accelerate its transition to intelligent new energy commercial vehicles. The company aims to achieve annual revenue of 30 billion yuan in this field by 2030, establishing itself as a key player in the commercial vehicle sector.

The event also showcased two key innovations: the T9, a new energy heavy-duty truck designed specifically for short-haul operations, and the L intelligent driving platform developed by MiracoMotor, a technology innovation enterprise incubated within GAC Group). The platforms debut model, the Robobus L60, was unveiled at the event.

"135" strategy for the development of commercial vehicles

GAC Group General Manager Feng Xingya elaborated on the "135" strategy, which includes:

1 Goal: Achieving 30 billion yuan in annual revenue by 2030 and becoming a core player in the new energy commercial vehicle sector.

3 Engines: Advancing intelligent manufacturing, fostering industry alliances, and building a user-centric ecosystem to drive innovation in electrification and intelligence.

5 Strategic Measures: Reforming organizational systems, developing a diverse product portfolio tailored to specific use cases, integrating GACs resources to deliver innovative integrated solutions, forming industry alliances for a shared ecosystem, and expanding globally with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as its foothold.

T9 new energy heavy-duty truck model

According to the carmaker, the T9 heavy-duty truck addresses key pain points in the short-haul transportation industry, such as product homogeneity and inefficient operations. Designed with low energy consumption, high cost efficiency, and intelligent features, the T9 offers a modularized integration of battery packs and chassis, low aerodynamic drag (0.4Cd), and lightweight materials, bringing its total weight to just 8.9 tonnes.

Equipped with GAC Hinos proprietary technologies, including a high-efficiency electric drive axle, integrated thermal management system, and an intelligent vehicle/cloud-enabled big data system, the T9 delivers a combined energy consumption rate of 1.1 kWh per kilometer. Its innovations ensure operators enjoy high comfort, functionality, and operational efficiency.

MiracoMotor's L intelligent driving platform available for scale applications

At the event, MiracoMotor unveiled the L platform, its first intelligent driving platform developed for scale applications. The platforms inaugural model, the Robobus L60, was unveiled and is set to be put into production in December 2024.

The Robobus L60 features passenger car-grade drive-by-wire steering and brake-by-wire systems, delivering faster response times and higher precision compared to traditional commercial vehicles. It also incorporates advanced energy-saving technologies, including an integrated intelligent thermal management system with a heat pump air conditioning unit.

Building on the L platform, MiracoMotor plans to release two derivative products: Robotruck and Robovan.

To the specific, the Robotruck T45 is scheduled for production in the first half of 2025. This driverless logistics vehicle eliminates the traditional cab, offering a 15-cubic-meter cargo capacity and a payload exceeding 2.1 tonnes.

Slated for production in 2026, the Robovan X60 is developed to European standards and features an 800V high-voltage platform for improved efficiency. It offers a cargo volume exceeding 16.5 cubic meters, with a 25% increase in utilization efficiency compared to traditional designs. This makes it an ideal solution for digital logistics operations and dual-purpose passenger and cargo applications.
