Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On November 25, Chinese smart electric vehicle XPENG announced that it has hit a delivery milestone of 20,000 X9 vehicles.

The XPENG X9, which hit the market on January 1, 2024, offers four trim levels, with prices ranging from 359,800 yuan to 419,800 yuan. The X9 is a pure electric 7-seat MPV model, which is built on the SEPA2.0 architecture.

In terms of design, the X9, different from traditional boxy outlook, comes with a starship-like style, featuring bold, sharp lines that give the vehicle a futuristic and dynamic look.

As for intelligent driving features, the XPENG X9 is equipped with 29 intelligent driving sensors, including two forward-facing LiDAR units, cameras, millimeter-wave radars, and ultrasonic sensors. Besides, it is powered by dual Orin-X chips, providing a processing power of 508 TOPS. The X9 also features the XNGP (XPENG Navigation Guided Pilot) advanced driver assistance system, which has expanded its urban driving capabilities to cover 243 cities, up from the 52 cities initially launched. This new coverage became effective on January 2, 2024.

Regarding power performance, the X9 comes with an 800V XPower electric drive system, delivering a maximum power output of 370 kW and peak torque of 640 N·m. Thanks to this system, the model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds, with a top speed of 200 km/h. Under the CLTC (China Light-duty Vehicle Test Cycle) conditions, the X9 boasts a maximum range of over 700 km, with a combined energy consumption of 16.2 kWh per 100 km, and offers up to 300 km of range after 10-minute charge.

Additionally, the X9 comes standard with an air suspension system and adaptive dampers across its entire lineup, improving vehicle stability and ride comfort. The air suspension offers a maximum adjustment range of 90 mm (raising 40 mm or lowering 50 mm), which can be manually or automatically adjusted based on the vehicle's speed.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
