Beijing (Gasgoo)- AVATR, the premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand co-backed by Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL, recently held a brand launch event in Dubai, UAE, marking the overseas debut of its AVATR 012 model and the official launch of the AVATR 11, which is now available for pre-order in the region.

In June 2024, AVATR signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Al Saqer Group, a leading luxury car dealership group in the UAE, to jointly introduce AVATR products to the local market and redefine intelligent luxury experiences for UAE customers.

With over 40 years of experience, Al Saqer Group is one of the largest luxury car dealers in the UAE, representing brands such as Rolls-Royce, BMW, and McLaren. AVATR believes this partnership will play a key role in achieving its overseas expansion strategy, enhancing its presence in the UAE’s premium automotive market and expanding its influence across the Middle East.

According to Changan Automobile's 2024 overseas expansion plan, the company aims to introduce its NEV brands, including DEEPAL, AVATR, and NEVO, to the Middle East and Africa. The Chinese automaker also plans to host brand launches, establish a Middle East subsidiary, and complete the construction of a regional spare parts center by the end of the year.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
