On November 20, autonomous driving solution provider WeRide announced the official commercial deployment of its autonomous sanitation vehicles (RoboSweeper), the S6 and S1, in Singapore.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On November 20, autonomous driving solution provider WeRide announced the official commercial deployment of its autonomous sanitation vehicles (RoboSweeper), the S6 and S1, in Singapore.

Specifically, the RoboSweeper S6 operates along Marina Coastal Drive, while the RoboSweeper S1 is deployed around the Esplanade. This marks Singapore's first commercial autonomous sanitation project and sets a benchmark for further adoption of intelligent sanitation technology in the region.

The deployment follows WeRide's recent acquisition of M1 and T1 licenses from Singapore's Land Transport Authority just a week earlier.

In June 2024, WeRide partnered with Chye Thiam Maintenance (CTM), one of Singapore's largest environmental service companies. Within six months, the partnership completed the entire process from license application to road testing and commercial deployment.
