Foshan Customs Uncovers Foreign Garbage Mixed in Imported "Secondary Aluminum Ingots," Orders Return

Recently, during the inspection of a batch of imported goods declared as "secondary aluminum ingots," Foshan Customs, under Guangzhou Customs, unexpectedly discovered a large amount of waste plastic, waste rubber, and old printed circuit boards mixed in. After sampling and sending it to a technical institution for identification, it was confirmed that these goods were foreign garbage prohibited from import by the state, with a total weight of 51.77 mt. Currently, Customs has lawfully implemented the return of these goods.

Customs hereby reminds that the state prohibits the import of foreign garbage in any form, as well as the dumping, piling, and disposal of foreign garbage domestically. For actions that violate relevant regulations, according to the "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste" and other laws and regulations, Customs will order the return of the goods and impose fines; if a crime is constituted, criminal responsibility will be pursued according to law.
